'Friendship Over Fences' is an exclusive limited edition print created for the campaign Multiply Kindness.
Never before has it been so important for each of us to look out for one another, check up on neighbours, family and friends. We invited artists to respond to the concept of human kindness and what can happen when this multiplies. It’s about celebrating human nature and championing the incredible generosity we all see on a daily basis.
Every print sold in this collection will go towards supporting The Trussell Trust. We will donate all funds raised after artists commission fees and fulfilment costs to the charity, supporting food banks and trying to reduce UK Hunger.
About the Artist
Renin Bilginer, b.1993 is a contemporary British artist working in London. Renin has a degree in BA (Hons) Fine art painting from The University of Brighton.
As a woman of dual British and Turkish nationality, born and raised in London, Renin’s practice explores her personal struggle to navigate between two cultures. Using her experiences with her family and observations of Turkish culture as reference, her work transcends themes of identity, tradition, feminism and the subversion of the male gaze; In context with her western upbringing, the work confronts and questions the outdated gender roles and social expectations of women in Turkey, through a satirical feminist lens.
Renin works primarily in painting and collage, although she is continuously developing and expanding her practice. Whilst the work addresses a serious subject matter, her uniquely vibrant colour palette allows her paintings and collages to retain a light-hearted and humorous quality.
